Facebook is launching a feature that will let you share an automatically generated slideshow comprising of the images and videos you took in the past 24 hours.

A minimum of 5 photos or videos are required to create a Slideshow and Facebook will pick these for you automatically based on image and object recognition techniques. You will be able to modify the selection if you so desire and you’ll also have the ability to add a theme to the slideshow. Theming options include nostalgia, birthday and more.

The Slideshows will be shared prominently in your newsfeed and if you encounter someone else’s Slideshow, Facebook will give you the option to create your own Slideshow right then and there. You pick at least 5 photos and videos and Facebook will do the rest.

This feature has always been a part of Facebook’s own Moments app and is only now making its way to the regular Facebook app. Apple had announced a similar feature for iOS 10 at WWDC 2016 and Google has had a similar feature in their Google Photos app as well.

If you remember Facebook’s Year in Review feature, Slideshow is a daily version of that. The Year in Review feature would glance through an entire year’s worth of images and video on your Facebook page and create a video that you could share. Facebook has also been experimenting on a similar video feature involving friends.
