After **posting** spectacular numbers exceeding Wall Street expectations **Facebook's valuation** is said to be now higher than AT&T and even Coca Cola. Knowing the importance of the messaging space, Zuckerberg now plans to take its messenger beyond mere communication. A report by Re/code states that some sources related to the matter have revealed Zuckerberg is in ‘preliminary talks with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick’ on the potential of embedding the service into the Facebook Messenger app. However, how the service will work is still unknown. Now, this isn’t a novel idea as there’s a similar tie-up between China’s WeChat and taxi-ordering service called Didi Dache. Though both companies have been silent, this move could work in favour of both Facebook and Uber. It would help Facebook do some ground work for the e-commerce initiatives it plans for the future. If you remember, the social network has confirmed that they are testing a **'Buy' button** . “Facebook will add a new service that could also potentially help it get more customer payment information on file to build a base of payment credentials for future e-commerce initiatives or money-transfer products. Facebook announced last week that it was testing a “buy” button that would allow users to buy products through an ad or company post,” the report points out. On the other hand, Uber will be able to reach out to a wider customer base. Currently, Facebook Messenger has more than 200 million monthly users. Moreover, in Uber-popular markets, the service is known to be used at least once a week or sometimes even every day.
