Facebook Paper 1.1 released for iOS: Photo comments, birthday notifications and more!

Its over two months that Facebook pulled the wraps off the  Paper  app, and now it brings the first major update to its Paper for iOS. The new Paper 1.1 update adds some nifty features and can be downloaded directly from the Apple App store .   To begin with, Facebook adds notifications for birthdays and events. The globe icon that will keep them posted about upcoming birthdays, among other notifications. Next up is the ability to add photo comments, which can be done by simply tapping the camera icon next to the comments field, snapping a picture and posting a photo as your reply.   Those who think it’s difficult keeping up with posts from groups in Paper, here’s an update that could come to your rescue. While groups have been a part of Paper ever since its launch, Facebook has now added unread counts to easily view which groups have new posts. To view your groups, swipe down on any section cover to open the main menu. The icon on the right of the ‘Search’ field will display your groups and other Facebook bookmarks.   Besides, Facebook has also added nine new paper covers. “Now it’s even easier to spot articles from Bloomberg News, Mashable, FT, kottke, Fox News, Popular Science, The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair and Hacker News. Happy reading,” reads the Paper blog . The update also brings changes such as basic accessibility support and an arrow indicator that alerts users about new stories in other sections.   It is still not officially available in India, but here’s how you can get  Paper for iOS .
