Dropbox has now launched a new feature which will allow users to share photos, videos and other files directly with people if you are chatting via Facebook Messenger. This feature is available for Android and iOS users. Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger said, “We want people to communicate just the way they want to on Messenger, with everyone they care about. Giving our users the ability to share their Dropbox videos and images in Messenger threads with just a few taps will help them bring more style and personality to those conversations.” When a user taps on the More button in the app, they will see Dropbox as an available source. With the Dropbox app installed on the phone, one can share any file in their Dropbox without having to leave the Messenger app. Videos and images (including animated GIFs) will also be displayed directly in chats. Last month, Dropbox VP of engineering, Aditya Agarwal announced that the company has managed to finally break off from Amazon’s cloud empire. They will be going forward using their very own super servers that have been built from scratch. Dropbox, the cloud storage specialist that is said to be going through a tough phase, has somehow managed to muster the courage to give cloud computing giants like Amazon and Microsoft the boot and actually build its own cloud, with some added brains.
