Facebook has made its Mentions app available on the Google Play Store , almost over a year of its launch on the iOS platform. Just like the iOS platform, the app will only work with Verified Facebook accounts (those lucky ones with a blue tick mark on their profile) on the Android platform as well. The app requires 87MB of space on your phone and will work with phones sporting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and later operating systems. The verified account holders need to be public figures and famous personalities in fields such as sports, glamour world, journalism, technology and so on to get the Mentions account activated. The Facebook Mentions app lets celebrities live stream videos to their followers and host a live Q&A session as well as connect with followers in real time. Users can also share content to Instagram or Twitter. You can also check out what people are saying about you and other topics you follow. In addition, you can also see what topics are currently trending on Facebook. The new Mentions app will also let you too choose the audience you want to share your text, links, photos or anything else. For example, Facebook states that you can share a post so only your followers see it in News Feed.
