A new trend is fast catching up on the popular social networking platform, Facebook. It now converts one’s friends to fans! The latest feature allows you to convert your existing personal Facebook profile to a professional looking business page with a few clicks, here and there.
Gets ‘biz’y
According to the newly introduced ‘Profile to Business Migration Tool’ , users can pick from a wide range of business categories and sub-categories, and add any additional information about their business, if needed. However, this feature, as of now, can accommodate only a limited number of fans. If a user has more than 100 friends, he’ll have to invariably choose a different page name. Also, once over to the business profile, a user will no longer be able to add more friends, nor will he be able to view the personal details of his fans.
The good news however is that small-time entrepreneurs will now have a platform to make themselves visible. Also, they will have access to social adverts, a feature available exclusively for the users with a business profile.
Facebook plans to use this service to encourage people to restrict their business activities to the business profile feature, and not mix it up with the personal profile section.
