Facebook for iOS gets photo comments, posts and comment editing

While Facebook has been pushing hard to bring a better mobile experience, there are still many features that are reserved only for web users. In a bid to change that, Facebook has now rolled out a few new options for iOS users, which will be very familiar if you have been using the web version heavily in the recent past. The update brings the ability to edit posts and comments after they are published, and lets users add photos as comments.

Another feature slowly being rolled out in the update is the option to share an emoticon, a feeling or an activity on a friend’s Timeline. It also gives users a lock icon next to the user’s name in the navigation menu that brings privacy shortcuts with frequently asked questions and information.

Facebook has added some features for its iOS app

Photo comments first appeared on the online version of the social network in June. The feature basically allows users to communicate through images. Bringing the feature to iOS should definitely make the app a bit more popular among IMers. Comment editing, on the other hand, was rolled out for the Web version a while ago. The feature was last seen being rolled out to the Android platform last month.

The company has also packed in Trending Topics with the iOS release, according to TechCrunch. It is still unclear if the company is still testing this or has rolled it out properly. From what can be seen, when the user loads the News Feed, iOS users might see a single bar showing four or more terms that have appeared in a lot of recent posts. Tapping the same reveals the whole list of trends and a feed of posts that mention them. Facebook first began trials of trending topics on its site in August.
