Facebook expands dynamic ad retargeting to Instagram and travel sector: Report

Facebook will now be integrating dynamic ad targeting into Instagram and travels sectors, and will also be ramping up “lookalikes”, according to TechCrunch. Dynamic ads are basically ads that are specially customised based on a user’s online shopping and searches. In addition, the company has also introduced two new tech developments which would include a Dynamic Ad unit specifically for the travel sector and more details to its “lookalike” custom audiences so that web sites using the tool can prioritise types of users. The company is also focusing on travel advertising and utilising data gathered from users purchasing flights or searching for hotels. Facebook says that one of its key reasons to expand the ad unit is clearly to target more mobile users. According to the report, mobile accounted for 82 percent of Facebook’s revenues in the last quarter, and its range of apps (including Facebook and Instagram) are part of the wider trend of app usage. Facebook has announced that it is rolling out Facebook at Work in India. The company says that with the initiative, they wish to carry their endeavour to make the world more open and connected in to the workplace too. Facebook aims to make workplaces more productive by enabling simpler ways to collaborate and connect with co-workers. The company shared that several companies in India such as L&T Infotech, YES Bank, Godrej Industries and businesses like Delhivery and Zomato, have started using Facebook at Work with employees as well. India is one of Facebook at Work’s top countries and its teams will start testing the solution with more companies.
