Facebook has updated its iOS app with some important and fun new features. Version 6.2 of the app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch will bring along status icons as well as improved privacy features.
The tiny update will enable you to edit your post’s privacy so that it is visible to only people and lists you choose. Using the drop-down available when you’re writing a status update, you will be able to tweak privacy settings of that particular status.

You will also be able to add these status icons to your updates now. The new status composer that Facebook had been testing since the beginning of the year started to roll out properly to everyone in April. India has only joined the club in late May and users will now also be able to add these icons to their statuses from Facebook for iOS.
You can choose to flaunt what you’re eating, reading, drinking or watching with smileys and specially-designed icons from Facebook on iOS. You can add these to your status updates, check-in with these and even add an image to the updates. You will be able to access this section when you open the status composer. Besides the check-in and camera icon, you will find a smiley icon that will let you choose an icon to describe what you’re doing right now, which is something Twitter urges its users to do.
With this update, you will also be able to start new conversations from images that you get within Messages, a feature that the Android version of the app got recently. Get started with these shiny new status icons by grabbing the Facebook app for iOS from the App Store.
