Popular and widely used social networking site, Facebook has been let off in a class action lawsuit pertaining to its Friend Finder fearture. Facebook was accused of wrongfully using the names and the profile pictures of the users to promote their Friend Finder feature, following which Facebook users Robyn Cohen and several others filed a class action lawsuit at a federal court in California claiming money for the inconvinience. Now a report in ZDNet confirms that a California federal judge has dismissed all claims by Robyn Cohen and other users and has passed Facebook as not guilty.

Facebook Friend Finder got somewhat popular with the audiences. The feature suggests friends to you using e-mail contacts. Once through it the name and profile picture gets picked up and is used to promote the feature. And, those of you who’d remember it, would remember the way Facebook went on talking about it - " try the automatic Friend Finder". However, the problem maker, according to Cohen was the further elaboration, which stated - “Friend1, Friend2, and Friend3 found many of their friends using the automatic Friend Finder. Give it a try =>”, wherein the user names and the profile pictures of the Friend1, Friend2 and Friend3 were shared without any permissions in place from them.
