ExoLens partners with Zeiss, offers professional smartphone camera lenses

Smartphone cameras are getting powerful than ever and this year saw some really impressive units like the Galaxy S7, the HTC 10 and the LG G5. Even the iPhone 6s/ 6s plus have one of the best smartphone cameras today and to improve the experience, Zeiss has partnered with ExoLens to offer a range of ‘professional’ smartphone camera lenses.

The  is currently available for iPhone 6 , iPhone 6s , iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus which includes a wide-angle lens, a metal mounting bracket and a carrying pouch priced for $199.95 (Rs 13,200 approx), which is a hefty price, but considering that we have Zeiss on board the quality should be top notch.

ExoLens already has an offering of lenses that can be attached to your smartphone, but with this partnership, it is taking the offering to the next level. Both the companies have also confirmed that they will be announcing similar professional grade macro and telephoto lenses later this year as reported by Photography Blog .

According to the company, the brackets for the lens mount have a cool webbed design with a special interior lining so that it doesn’t damage your smartphone. The bracket also provides provision for a tripod mount and support for other accessories like a mic or external lights. The wide-angle and telephoto lenses come with a spherical design which is usually seen in DSLR lenses.
