Evernote Peek does away with the iPad 2 and Smart Cover

Evernote Peek was the feature that used the iPad’s smart cover to assist with studying. Students could lift half the cover to reveal a question in the material they’re studying and then lift the cover up further to reveal the answer. It was basically a digital version of flash card usage. Now, Evernote has done away with the smart cover requirement for Peek and has built its own ‘virtual smart cover’ for the same function. The other requirement that they’ve done away with is needing the iPad 2. The Peak ‘virtual smart cover’ can be used on the original iPad, for which actual smart covers are not available. Now, when you launch Peek, you can swipe down a tab and select a Virtual Cover in the colour of your choice. And of course, studying with the Virtual Cover involves finger swiping across the screen.

The Virtual Cover in Evernote Peek

Evernote still admits that Peek is best used with an iPad 2 and an actual smart cover, but this way, those who don’t have either/or, can still use the program. Peek helps you study for your exams or even prepare for a getaway. You can either select a notebook from your Evernote account or choose from some of the content that they provide. In their content, they’ve included trivia, language exercises, and an extra special decorating tips from Martha Stewart. To create new study materials, make a new notebook in Evernote. The titles of the notes will become the clues and the body of the notes will become the answers. To fit into the Peek interface, the titles shouldn’t exceed one sentence and the body should stay under three sentences. To see Evernote Peek in action, watch the video below.
