Everyone with digital cameras and perhaps mobile phones, also has a memory card reader that accepts some 20, 30 or 50 different types of memory cards. Now, if you spend time (and perhaps money?) to keep your camera in top shape by cleaning it, why should you leave the cavities in the memory card reader open to dust and dirt on your desktop? You could hold it up and blow air into it to clean it, or you can use the new EverGreen card reader cleaning kit!
The kit comes with a set of dummy memory cards with cleaning material at the contact points where the real cards usually have a set of metal connectors. The cards come in different ‘formats’, i.e. SD, miniSD, Memory Stick Duo, XD, etc. and clean their respective slots. All you need to do is insert those into the right slots and take them out. This process cleans the contacts in the card reader.
No word on pricing, but I wouldn’t worry about the dust in the card reader too much.
