ESRB Censor Dead Island Logo in North America

You saw the moving Dead Island trailer. You cringed and maybe even shed a tear at the plight of the unfortunate family who were forced to kill their own daughter after she turned into the undead. They can’t handle the umm logo?

The old logo had a zombie or an unfortunate victim hanging from a coconut tree but that’s now been changed to a shambling zombie just walking in front of the tree. This incidentally isn’t the first time the logo for a zombie game has been tweaked. A similar form of censorship was doled out on Valve’s co-operative zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead 2 where Valve actually had to add fingers to a mauled zombie hand.

Dead Island releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC sometime in 2011.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
