Epson has launched the new PictureMate PM245, which is a completely portable 4 x 6 compact photo printer. The printer promises cost effective performance, alongside superior print quality. It delivers 4-inch x 6-inch photos and allows users to offer customizable special prints for their ID or passport photos as well with just the click of a button. The printer also offers professional quality prints and claims to offer it at faster speeds of just 37 seconds to produce a 4-inch x 6-inch photo.
Portable photo printing
This printer is fuelled by the Micro Piezo Inkjet printing technology that features Variable-Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) to achieve maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi, and a 1.5 picolitre minimum ink droplet size smooth image gradations. Customizing various ID and passport or visa photo sizes without using a PC has been made possible with the Custom-ID function.
“The Epson PictureMate PM245 gives users the convenience of printing high quality 4 x 6-inch photographs without needing to visit a photo lab,” comments S M Ram Prasad, Deputy General Manager – Consumer Products, Epson India. “It is designed to suit home users or print-for-pay users who require portability and high performance at the same time.”
It promises to take only about 37 seconds to print a 4R photograph.The Epson picture pack (four colour ink set) is priced at Rs.1,400 per pack, and prints up to 150 pages of 4 x 6-inch photograph. This results into Rs.8-9 for each 4R size photograph. The Epson Claria Photographic inks are smudge, water and fade-resistant. Users can directly print from their memory card or from digital cameras using the printer’s PictBridge USB port. It also comes with an optional rechargeable battery.
The Epson PictureMate PM245 will be available for purchase this month and is marked with an M.R.P. of Rs. 10,999.
