Edimax 3G-6408n N300 wireless 3G iQ router launched for Rs 7,999

Edimax Technology, has launched Edimax 3G-6408n N300 wireless 3G iQ router in its latest Edimax’ line of 3G routers.

Edimax 3G-6408n N300 wireless 3G iQ router launched for Rs 7,999

Edimax Technology has launched Edimax 3G-6408n N300 wireless 3G iQ router. The company confirms in an official statement that the router comes equipped with 300Mbps wireless speeds, automatic fail-over capabilities, green WLAN technology, and Edimax’s iQoS for easy QoS setup. Edimax claims that the 3G-6408n is a clean, simple, and effective solution for 3G wireless connectivity.

It is expected to be available in January 2013

Support for 3G/3.75G and cable/xDSL modems

The Edimax 3G-6408n is equipped with both a USB port and an Ethernet WAN port, and supports both 3G/3.75G and cable/xDSL modems. The company in its official statement claims that it can easily share an Internet connection with multiple devices. Additionally, in case 3G/3.75G access is unavailable, the device’s automatic fail-over feature ensures it will automatically switch to cable/xDSL seamlessly.

The Edimax 3G-6408n N300 wireless 3G iQ router supports iPhone, HTC, Blackberry, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and other smartphones. Besides supporting both 3G/3.5G and Cable/xDSL modems, the 3G-6408n 3G router also supports Internet tethering via many major smartphones on the market.

Wi-Fi speed up to 300Mbps

Edimax shares that the 3G-6408n conforms to IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless standards, and is capable of reaching Wi-Fi speeds of up to 300Mbps when connected to a 802.11n device. It is also equipped with wireless MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) technology to broaden its wireless coverage and eliminate potential dead spots.

Green WLAN technology

Designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly, the official statement adds that Edimax 3G-6408n is equipped with the latest green WLAN technology. It dynamically adjusts its power supply according to network activity and the length of cable used. By supplying only the amount of power needed at any given moment, the device offers high networking performance while simultaneously maintaining low power consumption.

Data transmission rates via IEEE 802.11n

The Edimax 3G-6408n complies with IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards. Its wireless data transmission rate can reach up to 300Mbps and its signal coverage is five times greater than standard 802.11g/b routers.

Edimax iQoS

The 3G-6408n features Edimax’s iQoS technology, which it claims is the answer to the need for a quicker, easier, more effective and more user-friendly way to manage Internet bandwidth. Its interface allows users to arrange bandwidth priority settings with just a few clicks, claims the company statement. With iQoS, gaming, watching online video, and downloading files at the same time will no longer be a nightmare.

Price and Availability

The company has priced the Edimax 3G-6408n N300 at Rs 7,999 (MRP) and it is expected to be available in January 2013.
