Its game on! eBay has quietly made changes to its accepted payments policy and announced that it does not allow the use of Google's Checkout online payment system on its website. Any eBay Sellers and stores operating on the auction site are banned from using Checkout. If they are found to be using Google checkout it will lead to such possible actions as loss of the PowerSeller status, loss of certain account privileges and in extreme cases even account suspension.
The reason given by eBay is that "Google Checkout has not been a tried and true online payment service for an extended period of time". EBay has not mentioned if this will remain a permanent ban or a temporary one.
It does seem as though eBay fears that Google Checkout will eat into Paypal's profit.
