 "EA still developing games for the Nintendo Wii U")
In recent times, EA has made its displeasure about developing for the Nintendo Wii U quite clear. The displeasure mostly stems from the fact that the Wii U is unable to handle the Frostbite engine very well. But in a complete U-Turn, the company has announced that it will still develop games for the console. The announcement was made by EA’s Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen during the Stifel Nicolaus 2013 Internet, Media and Communications Conference, according to Polygon .
The statement is in direct contradiction to one made by EA Spokesperson Jeff Brown who had stated that the company has “no games in development for the Wii U currently.”
EA doesn’t seem to be giving up on the Wii U just yet
“You know, I think Nintendo’s business was more [an] extension of their last console,” Jorgensen said when asked which console will be leading the way when the new generation of consoles hit stores. “We are building titles for the Nintendo console, but not anywhere near as many as we are for PS or Xbox.”
“I think what the consumer will find is a lot more powerful gameplay with the new boxes that are coming out, and a lot of excitement, but it’ll remain to be seen as to the services associated with those as to how consumers decide which direction they might want to go.”
EA had earlier announced that its flagship sports titles – Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 – will not be making it to the Wii U because results were disappointing with FIFA 13, which was one of the launch titles for the Nintendo console.
