Taking the term “forum Nazi” to the next level, EA has started banning accounts, not only across forums, but also across its games to prevent people from abusing on their official forums. And what’s worse is that their filter is pretty screwed up penalizing the wrong person at times. As reported on The Escapist forums , a user by the name of MaximumTacos got his EA account banned simply because someone hurled abuses at him on the EA forums. That’s right, this guy was the recipient of some not so pleasant words and he’s the one penalized simply because the dude abusing him left his username at the end of the post.

Now he faces a permaban (permanent ban) across Battlefield 3 as well as Bad Company 2, even though both those games were purchased by him – legitimately. It’s really ironic that EA are busy banning people muttering abuses on their forums, while hackers run rampant in Battlefield 3 making life largely unpleasant for the rest of us.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
