EA’s fascination with horror games goes back a long way. In recent times, that relation has been cemented by the success of the Dead Space franchise. And now with Grasshopper Manufacture’s survival action, Shadows of the Damned, it seems EA have heavily invested in this genre.
In a recent interview with IGN , EA head honcho Frank Gibeau said that EA have long term investments in this genre. He went on to state that the horror genre has been around in movies for ages and now with games, things only get more interactive and terrifying.
EA is gonna scare your pants off very often now
In fact Visceral Games, developers of the Dead Space 2 are burning the midnight oil coming up with something huge for Dead Space 3. In addition to that, they’re even working on new IPs, which obviously weren’t revealed by him.
While I love the Dead Space series to death, I only hope yearly installments don’t hamper the game’s quality. Either way head over to our Dead Space 2 review to see why you should own the game now.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
