E3 2012: Ubisoft press conference highlights

Right before Sony’s press conference, Ubisoft took the time to showcase their lineup for 2012/13 and even unveiled a brand new IP (intellectual Property), something we don’t see a lot nowadays. Here are the highlights from their conference:

Announcements:

By far the most surprising announcement of E3 2012, Ubisoft unveiled a new IP called Watch Dogs, an open world game where players can hack pretty much everything. The game engine looked gorgeous and it seems GTA V may have stiff competition from an unexpected contender that seems to blend stealth and all out action into some seamless package.

Just Dance 4, a game not many of you are probably going to play was also announced.

Ubsioft showered a lot of love on Nintendo’s Wii U announcing three games for it. First up you have Avengers: Battle for Earth, a fighting game that will apparently put the Avengers up against other superhero dudes.

Rayman also makes his debut on the Wii U with Rayman Legends. He’s joined in his playful endeavors with a brand new co-op partner called Murphy.

Gameplay:

All of Ubisoft’s flagship franchises also got equal screen or should I say stage time. And here’s a look at all of them.

Assassin’s Creed III

Far Cry 3 (PS: The Far Cry 3 gameplay video is NSFW as it does involve feminine private parts)

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
