E3 2012: Star Wars 1313 Announced

After burning their hands with a Kinect game, LucasArts is back on track developing games people will actually care about. Today they unveiled Star Wars 1313, a third person, cover based shooter that’s apparently a more “mature” take on the family friendly Stars Wars universe. Players will step into the boots of an unnamed bounty hunter and explore “the depths of the Coruscant underworld”. Since I have no knowledge about the Stars Wars universe, I have absolutely no clue what the Coruscant underworld is but it does sound sinister.

“We’re excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing,” said Paul Meegan, President, LucasArts. “Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself.”

As he says, expect more at E3 2012.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
