E3 2011: Mass Effect 3 Will Support Kinect

As rumored, Mass Effect 3, the final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy will support Kinect. But unlike most Kinect games, you won’t be flailing around the living room looking all crazy and stuff. Kinect support in Mass Effect 3 will be limited to voice commands which means as Commander Shepard you’ll be able to choose a dialogue vocally.

During combat, you’ll also be able to issue voice commands to your squad using Kinect. This is actually one of the better uses of Kinect I’ve seen, so you retain the precision of the controller but make it a tad more immersive by allowing players to control certain aspects of the game using voice commands.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
