E3 2011: Konami's Silent Hill Blowout

At their pre-E3 conference, Konami had a bit of good and bad news for Silent Hill fans. The bad news was that the latest Silent Hill game titled Silent Hill: Downpour has been delayed to winter. This obviously blows massive chunks as November is already chockablock full of AAA game releases.

On the flip side, die-hard fans of the series will be glad to know that both Silent Hill 2 and 3 will be receiving a major visual - and possible gameplay - upgrade in the form of a Silent Hill HD Collection. Platforms weren’t mentioned but we’re guessing it’ll be for both the Xbox360 and PS3.

And finally Konami announced a Silent Hill game for the NGP called Silent Hill: Book of Memories. Besides a name, we got nothing except for a quote that the game would be “taking the franchise places it’s never been before.”

All said and done, I’d say this is a good day for Silent Hill fans as Silent Hill 2 is supposed to be one of the best horror games ever made.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
