Dunwall City Trials DLC for Dishonored gets gameplay trailer

Bethesda is all set to release the first DLC for its stealth-action first person game—Dishonored. The company has released a trailer that shows the gameplay in the first DLC, Dunwall City Trials.

Dunwall City Trials is set to have challenges for players to complete. It will consist of ten challenge maps that will test out different abilities such as stealth, combat and mobility. Some of the challenges include an arena battle where you will have to fight against waves of enemies, some drop-down assassinations, and a race that will test your speed. As is usual for DLC like this, Dunwall City Trials will also include new trophies and achievements, along with a global online leaderboard. It will see a simultaneous release on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the PC, and will cost $4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points (roughly Rs 266).

The second and third DLC for Dishonored will see a release in 2013 and will be more focused on story-driven campaigns. In the second DLC, the main focus of the story will be Daud - the leader of a group of supernatural assassins known as The Walkers. It will feature new levels set in Dunwall and you will discover Daud’s weapons and powers. Bethesda will release information on the third DLC closer to its release.

The steampunk stealth game Dishonored gets a new gameplay trailer

Ready to go back to Dunwall yet?

The game is a lot like the older Thief games or Hitman games. The game focusses on stealth and allows multiple ways to finish your objective, along with a wide variety of weapons and powers. Dishonored boasts a number of features not often seen in games these days, such as the capability for pacifist runs where the player doesn’t kill anybody, and many different ways to finish missions, including stealthy runs where no one sees the character, or an all out balls-to-the-walls violent run where the player destroys everything in his path.

Back in November, Bethesda had revealed that Dishonored has been performing better than expected. While the developers have been quiet about actual figures, the company has confirmed that there will be a sequel.

“I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s a new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter,” said PR chief Pete Hines. “We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas. So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise.”

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
