Don't like your Facebook movie? You will be able to edit Look Back videos soon

We’ve all seen our Facebook Look Back movies already and most of us have shared the movie to our Time Lines. However, a lot of Facebook users holding back could have been doing so thanks to the fact that their movie contained a lot of embarrassing images. Like ’that’ college party, or you embracing the ex you no longer talk to. Thankfully, Facebook will soon let you edit your movies before you can share them with your friends.

Now when you view your Look Back video, you will see the Share button has a new neighbour – the Edit button. However, the ability to edit your videos is not available just yet. If you do happen to click on the Edit button it will take you to a blank page.

Facebook’s Support Page dedicated to Look Back also mentions the Edit button and says that a user can click on it to make changes to their movie. According to the page, when you use the Edit too, you will be able to use the checkmarks on your photos and other stories to adjust whether they appear in your movie or not. It’s still not clear if you will be able to replace these offending images with something better.

The Look Back movie was released just in time for Facebook’s 10th birthday on February 4. The minute long movie set to sappy piano music showed you some moments of your time on Facebook. It included posts that got the most likes, some of the earliest pictures you uploaded and more. The video was signed by “Mark and the team” and served as a sort of a thank you card to users.

TechCrunch reports that the Edit feature was to ship along with Facebook Look Back itself but since it took too long to build, it wasn’t ready in time for the anniversary. “We will be launching an Edit feature soon that will allow people to change moments in their movies or update the ones they shared. I don’t have exact timing at the moment, but this will enable people to remove a post from the movie that was pre-selected and change it to a different one,” a Facebook representative told the website.
