Diwali 2014 buying guide: 10 LED TVs to consider across budgets and screen sizes

If you are planning to buy a new TV for your home, chances are that you already have a set budget in mind. But the perfect TV depends not only on the price of the TV and range of features, but also on the finer details such as the screen size and the size of your living room. Based on your requirements, we’ve listed some great TV choices currently available in the market. 55-inches and over TVs above 55-inch are usually the top-end flagships, which come with the best features from manufacturers and at a hefty premium. We recommend TVs beyond 55-inch if the distance between the seating arrangement and the TV is greater than 2 metres. [caption id=“attachment_232054” align=“aligncenter” width=“640” class=" “] ![Sony's new 4K TV. ](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Sony-4K-TV.jpg) Bravia KD-55X9000B is Sony’s 55-inch 4K TV[/caption] Sony Bravia KD-55X9000B MRP Rs 3,14,900 If you have a large living room and a budget to match, this 55-inch Sony TV is worth considering for its features. It comes with a native 4K resolution which means 3840 x 2160 pixels across the length and breadth. While there is a shortage of native 4K content, the TV can upscale your full HD content to 4K resolution as well. Speakers are placed on the front left and right sides of the TV, which should provide a good surround-sound effect. As it falls in the top-end segment, it comes with all the mod-cons including 3D TV, Smart TV and ample connectivity options. Read the full specifications here. [caption id=“attachment_238831” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![samsung](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/samsung.jpg) Samsung 55H8000AR comes with a curved 3D full HD display[/caption] Samsung 55H8000AR MRP: Rs 2,25,900 This 55-inch Samsung TV comes in a unique curved design to pep up your living room. The design also helps reduce reflections and give a more immersive viewing experience. It’s a Full HD TV and also packs features such as Smart TV and 3D TV and picture enhancing features such as Multi-Link Screen (Dual) for splitting the screen into two halves. Read the complete list of specifications here. [caption id=“attachment_238951” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![LG TV is great if you are looking for just a big screen experience](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/LG.jpg) LG 60LN5710 TV is great if you are looking for just a big screen experience[/caption] LG 60LN5710 MRP: Rs 1,90,000 If you just need a large-screen TV, but don’t care about features such as 4K or 3D, then this 60-inch LG is a more affordable option to consider. It can play movies and TV channels in Full HD resolution and comes with built-in Wi-Fi for watching YouTube videos and surfing the web. It comes with Smart TV features and also supports an external camera for video calls on Skype. Find the full list of features here.   40 to 55 inch The next in line is the 40 to 55 inch TV segment, which should be considered if your seating arrangement is not less than 1.5 metres from the TV.   ![Samsung](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Samsung.jpg) Samsung UA48H5500AR MRP: Rs 89,900 This 48-inch Samsung LED TV looks great with a narrow bezel and a square stand. It’s a Full HD TV and comes with nifty controls including face recognition and motion sensors for navigating the Smart TV. The TV packs the DTS Premium Sound 5.1 speaker technology which should provide good bass and volume levels and clear speech. Find the full list of features here. LG 42LA6910 MRP: Rs 93,000 This 42-inch LG TV is a good option to consider if you need 3D TV, Smart TV and of course a Full HD TV set in a compact size. This 40-inch TV comes with LG’s best features including Dual Play which splits the screen into two for two-player gaming, NFC for quickly transferring data between the TV and your smartphone, and a built-in recorder for recording your favourite TV shows for viewing later. It uses a 2.1 speaker system or two speakers placed on the left and right sides of the TV for a good audio experience. Find the full list of features here.   30 to 40 inch TVs in this range are suitable for most living rooms, where the average distance between viewers and the TV is around 2 metres. Finding a TV with all the mod-cons such as Smart TV and 3D might be difficult to find in TVs of this screen range, though we recommend going for TVs with a resolution of at least 1,024 x 768-pixels.   [caption id=“attachment_238955” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![viera-th-l32sv6d-32-inch-led-lcd-television-61266](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/viera-th-l32sv6d-32-inch-led-lcd-television-61266.jpg) Panasonic Viera TH-L32SV6D comes with massive front-facing audio speakers[/caption] Panasonic Viera TH-L32SV6D MRP: Rs 32,000 This 32-inch Panasonic TV is a decent mid-range LED TV. Find the full list of specifications here. LG 32LB5820 MRP: Rs 41,900 This is one of the few 32-inch TVs that comes with a Full HD display, built-in Wi-Fi, Smart TV and a built-in recorder at an affordable cost. It promises wide viewing angles, blur-free motion pictures and a sturdy IPS panel that should last long. Also, with a slim bezel design, it’s a good-looking TV to have in your living room. Find the full list of specifications here.   Below 30 inch TVs under 30 inches are best suited for smaller rooms, where the average distance between viewers and the TV is less than 1 metre. TVs under 30 inches usually lack added features such as Smart TV and 3D, and have fewer connectivity options compared with their large-screen counterparts. [caption id=“attachment_238813” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![philips_4000_series](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/philips_4000_series.jpg) 28-inch Philips 29PFL4738 LED TV is for those with slightly over Rs 20,000 to spare[/caption] Sony BRAVIA KLV-28R412B MRP: Rs 25,900 Those with space constraints and looking for a flat screen television below 30-inches can definitely consider this 28-inches Sony Bravia option.
