Blizzard’s currently-in-beta digital card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, will be making it to quite a few platforms. According to Polygon , the company announced at its Blizzcon event that the card game will be making its way to iPhone and Android along with its PC, Mac and iPad release.

Sadly enough, the game still doesn’t have a release date, going with Blizzard’s “when it’s done” policy. The game’s Chief Creative Officer Rob Pardo did reveal, however, that it will be entering open beta some time next month. He jokingly added, “but in Blizzard language, that might mean January.”

The main reason for releasing it to smartphones is that, according to Pardo, “not everyone actually has tablets”. He then showed off the game running on an iPhone 5s on the stage at Blizzcon.

The card game will be free-to-play

In Hearthstone, players build card decks centred around one of nine Warcraft character classes and duel each other for fun, glory and the chance to win new cards. Blizzard will begin beta testing for the game very soon—no, seriously. Players will play against each other over Battle.net. You will be able to challenge anyone in your Battle.net friends list assuming they have the game. According to the press release, the game is balanced towards being both accessible for newcomers and compelling to card game veterans.

Players will have the ability to create decks based on either magic or actual fighting, depending on their tastes, and both will be equally viable. Those interested can try their hand at entering the closed beta, which can be done by changing their Battle.net account settings.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
