DICE reveals details about Battlefield 4's Battlelog

Developer DICE has released a new trailer that shows the features of the new Battlelog that will be making its way to Battlefield 4. In the trailer, developers explain that the Battlelog isn’t just a feature for PC gamers anymore; it will be everywhere. There will be a Battlelog on the console versions of the game, as well as apps for smartphones and tablets that will let players do everything one can do in the Battlelog. Check out the trailer:

There are a number of new features in the new Battlelog, however, the quality of these features is disputable at best. These features range from the completely inane, such as being able to set up your loadout on a smartphone when you aren’t even home, to some potentially useful and fun ones, such as using a tablet as a second screen that shows the minimap, or setting up challenges between you and your friends.

Earlier, DICE had revealed some information about the single-player campaign in Battlefield 4. The game will revolve around Sergeant Daniel Recker, member of an elite squad of soldiers known as Tombstone squad. While on a mission to collect intelligence from a defecting Russian General in Azerbaijan, the squad is discovered and they have to fight their way through waves of soldiers to escape.

The storyline then takes the squad to Shanghai, where Martial Law has been imposed. The squad has to extract a group of VIPs. China is in uproar because of the US’s implications in the assassination of the future leader and voice for peace in China, Jin Jié.

Battlefield 4 was announced as one of the launch titles for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One at E3. It will also be making it to the PC. A Spectator Mode that was earlier unveiled, however, has only been confirmed for the PC version of the game.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
