In an interview with MTV’s Multiplayer Blog , World of Warcraft lead designer Jeff Kaplan, confirmed that the upcoming WoW expansion ‘Wrath of the Lich King’ and all upcoming Blizzard titles will have unlockable Achievements.

The achievements will be awarded for everything from exploring areas to completing raid dungeons. The first wave of Achievements will be limited to character-specific stuff, but they hope to introduce ‘account-wide unlockables’ in the future.
The Achievements will all be tied into an overall Blizzard account that will allow players to keep track of each other, and possibly level up the account to reap unlockable rewards.
