Details of Samsung's Exynos 8895 chipset leaked, could make a debut on the Galaxy S8

Samsung has been making its own SoCs ever since the first Galaxy S smartphone was launched. The Exynos series has made appearances on a number of Samsung smartphones and tablets. If the latest leak is true, we will see a brand new version next year. Previous rumours suggested that Samsung is working on a mobile chipset that would clock at 3GHz, however the new leak suggests that it will have a top clock speed on 2.5GHz with custom M2 CPU cores. The new high-end Exynos 8895 mobile SoC built by Samsung could arrive in two separate models with an M and a V version. They will be utilising four M2 nuclei with a lower-power, energy-efficient ARM Cortex A53 quartet. It will also pack a the new Mali-G71 GPU which could have as many as 20 cores, with 550MHz frequency. Most of the other features seem to be similar to the Snapdragon 835. So basically it will offer LPDDR4x support, UFS 2.1, 4K screen resolution compatibility, Cat. 16 LTE connectivity, and a 10nm fabrication process. ![Exynos-8895-specifications](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Exynos-8895-specifications-e1482988824941.jpg) The expected arrival of the new chipset is Q2 of 2017 which could match the launch date of the Galaxy S8. Samsung has previously launched Snapdragon and Exynos version of its flagship and there is a highly possibility that the coming year will see the same.
