Game4u's 12 Days of Christmas sale is now on the last stretch, with today's game being EA's modern military shooter—Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The game is priced at Rs 899 instead of Rs 1,499, giving it a 40 percent discount.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is EA's less successful attempt at making a modern military shooter. While the series was originally known for being based on World War II, EA tried to shake things up with the 2010 reboot. While the game wasn't very well received, the company didn't let up, and earlier this year, released Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Read our review of Warfighter here.
Yesterday's game for sale was Mass Effect 3 for a 50 percent discount, bringing its price down from Rs 1,499 to Rs 749. Mass Effect 3 was the ending to BioWare's space opera epic and finished off Shepard's story. While the story is being further expanded upon through DLC, the main story about Shepard's fight against the Reapers has ended. Read our review of Mass Effect 3 here.
Day 9 of the sale brought us Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition at a 77 percent discount, which brought its price down from Rs 2,999 to Rs 699. Hitman: Absolution marks the return of the bald bar-coded assassin after a long hiatus. The series is famous for letting you play Hitman however you like. This would include options like never being detected and making your kill look like an accident, or going completely crazy and shooting everyone down with a machinegun while wearing a giant bird costume during Mardi Gras. Before that was the zombie-themed tower defense game Plants vs Zombies at a discount of 67 percent, which brought its price down from Rs 299 to Rs 99.
Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense game with a sense of humour. You place plants on your lawn to stop the zombies from breaking in and killing the owner of the house. There is a wide variety of zombies that attack too, ranging from zombies with increased defense (wearing a traffic cone), to zombies that summon more zombies (dancing like Michael Jackson from Thriller). The game got praise for its simple yet addictive gameplay and sense of humour.
The previous day brought us Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game was up for grabs for a 60 percent discount, bringing its price down from Rs 499 to Rs 199.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was released in 2011 as a prequel to the original Deus Ex. The game takes place during the relative start of the era of human augmentation. Apart from giving great stealth and action gameplay, Human Revolution was applauded for the multiple routes through levels that it allowed. While it was applauded for all these things, the game did catch a lot of flak for having bad boss fights. Where the original Deus Ex was famous for letting you handle any situation—including boss fights—however you wanted, Human Revolution's boss fight could only be fought like a typical FPS game.
