CyanogenMod releases CM14.1 nightlies for Nexus 5, Moto X Pure and Nextbit Robin

CyanogenMod, one of the most popular communities for custom ROMs has released the new 'Nightly' build for Nexus 5, Moto X Pure and Nextbit Robin.

CyanogenMod, one of the most popular communities for custom ROMs has released the new 'Nightly' build for Nexus 5, Moto X Pure and Nextbit Robin. The company is regularly releasing newer and newer builds as it continues to grow. One thing to note is that these builds are not final stable builds and instead are more of beta builds. Here the developers release one new build almost every day while tweaking the configuration and adding new features.

Nightly builds are the playground where developers can test drive new tweaks and software optimisations and improve things on feedback from users. The latest CM14.1 is based on Android Nougat 7.1 which is a direct jump from CM14 which was based on Android Nougat 7. CM development jumped on CM14.1 without developing the stable builds for CM 14 to save time so that CM users won't have to wait for the update.

The latest devices to gain CM14.1 Nightlies include Google Nexus 5, LG G Pad 7 LTE, Motorola Moto X Pure Edition, Nextbit Robin, Oppo R5/R5s and Oppo R7 Plus. In addition to the usual CM14.1 builds, Samsung Galaxy S3, Xiaomi Mi4i and Xiaomi Redmi 3/Prime received CM13 nightly builds. This is the first time that Xiaomi smartphones have received official CM support as reported by Android Police. It's great to observe that CM development is not taking a hit from all the developments coming out of Cyanogen Inc. or CyanogenMod.
