The app store in the Windows 8 Customer Preview is already filling up with some mobile app favourites. Two such favourites are iOS hits, Cut the Rope, and multi-platform organizer, Evernote. Cut the Rope, which is a 99 cent (approx Rs.49) physics- based game for iOS devices has been downloaded more than 60 million times. Now take that statistic, and this next one, at least one million people are reported to have downloaded the Windows 8 Customer Preview in the first 24 hours, and put them together. According to Mashable, Cut the Rope was ported to the Windows 8 platform not by its developer, ZeptoLab, but by a small development design firm, PixelLab. Furthermore, the app wasn’t ported to Windows 8, but Microsoft put the two firms in touch with each other and PixelLab coverted CTR’s C++ code into HTML5 and JavaScript. The process took 10 days and the app was then ready for an Internet Explorer 9 port.
Cut the Rope for Windows 8
The Evernote on Windows 8 is not a full application, yet. According to Maximum PC, the app on Windows 8 only supports text notes. However, it does store these notes and share them across other devices that you may have Evernote installed on. You can view other elements, like images that you’ve placed in text notes from other devices through the app on Windows 8, but you cannot actually place these elements into the text notes via the Windows 8 app, yet. The Metro UI styles the app like a newspaper and you can use it in full screen. The app is also reportedly designed for both mouse/keyboard functionality and touch.
Evernote on Windows 8
