‘Open Network’ initiative launched by Airtel in June 2016 has received a good response from consumers all across the country according to the company. Airtel claimed that the feedback received from the consumers has helped the company improve its network. This initiative was the first of its kind where the company has put all its mobile network information to the public for feedback. According to the company over 9000 Airtel network sites all across the country have ben upgraded while over 30,000 sites have been optimised in order to improve the network. The initiative also helped the company fix thousands of locations to install new network sites . The process to install newer cellphone towers has already started to strengthen signal strength. “We would like to express our gratitude to our customers for sharing their valuable feedback and supporting the Open Network initiative. We believe that with this initiative, we have made a small but positive beginning towards improving our network and hope that going forward more customers will join us. Airtel is fully committed to building a world-class network that is future ready and will deliver a great mobile experience to our customers,” added Gopal Vittal, MD, and CEO for India and South Asia, Bharti Airtel. To mark the next phase, Airtel is rolling out a new 360-degree advertising campaign with a mix of TV, print, outdoor and digital. Taproot-Dentsu has designed the new campaign and Airtel will add ‘Network Stories’ to feature the customers who helped Airtel in improving its network. This phase is part of a larger initiative, Airtel’s “Project Leap” where the company will be investing Rs 60,000 crores.
