According to an announcement made by THQ, Company of Heroes 2 is scheduled for a Q3 2007 release, and will be made using DirectX 10 technology. This means that the game will be playable on Windows Vista only as of now, so you might have to upgrade your OS to play it. If you’re using Windows Vista already, this should be great news for you, since the game will look far better on DX10 than it did on DX9. Once Relic’s in-house developed ‘Essence Engine’ is upgraded, it will support a dynamic weather system, along with Shader Model 4.0 and a far more realistic physics engine than before.
If you have a DirectX 10 card such as the GeForce 8800 GTS/GTX, you’re should really be looking forward to this game. If you don’t however, you can always get your hands on the newly released Company of Heroes expansion – Opposing Force.
