Relic’s next big game—Company of Heroes 2—is up for pre-ordering on digital distribution platform Steam. The game can be pre-ordered for $59.99, which roughly converts to Rs 3,280. Pre-ordering the game gets you a bunch of bonuses, including a Theatre of War Mini Pack and some skins, such as the Winter Ambush skin and the Woronezh Front skin. The game will be out on June 25. Apart from the pre-order bonuses, buying it now also gets you the ability to get access to the game’s beta.
Theatre of War is a mini-campaign of sorts that lets players experience a new single player story from events happening in different parts of the world. concurrently to the events happening in the actual single-player campaign.
Players will also get new multiplayer commanders, which will further help customise their armies. The German army gets the Joint Operations Doctrine, which specialises in artillery strikes and the Offensive Spearhead Doctrine for players who prefer using heavy armour and airstrikes to defeat opponents.

The Soviet army gets the Anti-Infantry Tactics Doctrine, which lets them build crazy units like flamethrower tanks, and the Conscript Support Tactics Doctrine, which allows for rapid reinforcement in the heat of battle.
The game is a sequel to the original Company of Heroes and has the same setting as that of the original—World War II. The original game was praised for its intensive action and a high requirement of tactics. The game quickly gained a lot of fans in the pro-gaming circuit. While it did have a single player campaign that had some of the biggest events of World War II, its multiplayer was undoubtedly the main pull of the game.
In Company of Heroes 2, it is 1941 and the beginning of what will become the bloodiest conflict of World War II resulting in more than 14 million military casualties. Players will get to witness the struggles of the Red Army from near defeat through their incredible triumph over Germany in the most challenging and costly theatre of the war, the Eastern Front.
After THQ’s bankruptcy, the publishing for developer Relic has been picked up by Sega, with a monopoly in strategy game, considering that it also owns Creative Assembly—responsible for the Total War series. As of yet, it is unclear whether the bankruptcy of THQ has had any negative effect on the game, though.
