While it’s been quite some time since Relic’s last strategy game, Company of Heroes 2, hit stores, the studio doesn’t seem keen on letting go of the game just yet. The game is apparently getting a major update, dubbed Turning Point, for free. The update will be automatically making its way to players through Steam on November 12. It includes a number of new things.

One of the most highly-requested features in any strategy game is support for player-created maps, and Company of Heroes 2 was no different. The Turning Point update will be adding a World Builder, which will let players design and share their own multiplayer maps. Along with this, Relic is also releasing a couple of new multiplayer maps as well as four new multiplayer commanders.

The two maps are the industrial Rails and Metal and the urban Lazur Factory. The new commanders, two on each faction, will be playable in multiplayer and skirmish modes.

“We are excited to provide such a large content update to Company of Heroes 2 players,” said Greg Wilson, Executive Producer at Relic Entertainment. “We are particularly proud to offer our community the much sought-after World Builder and are hoping to provide Steam Workshop integration and other mod features in the near future.”

As its name might imply, Company of Heroes 2 is a sequel to the original Company of Heroes and has the same setting as that of the original – World War II. The original game was praised for its intensive action and a high requirement of tactics. The game quickly gained a lot of fans in the pro-gaming circuit. While it did have a single player campaign that had some of the biggest events of World War II, its multiplayer was undoubtedly the main pull of the game.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
