Skype is by far the simplest and easiest yet versatile way to have a video chat with anyone the world over. The Skype App that’s been introduced for web-connected TV’s that are available form companies like Samsung, Panasonic and LG was demonstrated at their CommunicAsia 2010 booth. They set up a Panasonic Viera and allowed users to make free calls while checking things out at their booth. It’s simple set up, a web cam is connected to the TV (via USB) and users will be able to go online and call any other Skype user in their contacts list who’s either sitting in front of their TV or PC. Unfortunately the TV to mobile scenario hasn’t been worked out just yet.
