CommunicAsia 2010: Samsung Announces Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro with Bada OS

Samsung’s got quite a bit to show off this year as well at the CommunicAsia event that kicked off today in Singapore. They’ve covered all of the major operating systems from Windows Mobile to Android and also announced a couple of devices for their own Bada OS that just recently made its debut in India.

The handsets that were showcased at the event included the Wave 2 or the S5250 and its corresponding bigger brother the Wave 2 pro also known as the S5330 with its slide out QWERTY keypad. Both of these devices will come loaded with Samsung’s new Bada open mobile platform. Their features will include -

  • 3.2-inch touchscreens
  • GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi
  • GPS with A-GPS (geotagging)
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 3 megapixel camera
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket
  • MicroSD card support

The handsets will also come pre-installed with Facebook and Twitter apps, Google Latitude and Java support. They will have also access to Samsung’s Social Hub where all of your contact details, social networks, and email services are integrated into a single space, making connecting and sharing easier. According to reports, neither of them appear to be 3G equipped devices.
