Similar to INQ’s 3G chat and other devices like it, Alcatel has tied up with Yahoo to bring emerging markets their QWERTY Alcatel One Touch Net mobile. It’s unclear just yet as to whether or not it’s categorized as a Smartphone. This could be considered the Yahoo! Phone as it’s designed to be for the Yahoo! fan club supporting push-email from Yahoo servers (other POP and IMAP accounts also supported) as well as sync contact and calendar information. It’s also designed to play nice with Yahoo! Social Pulse that’s the ‘other’ big search giant’s social networking platform that ties in to the popular sites. Of course Flickr integration is on board so using the handset’s 2MP camera you can snap and upload quickly and painlessly. It’s quite weird the way features seem so familiar to Google Android devices like this for example the Yahoo! Search with Voice. It’s the same actually, it’s like a voice command feature for searches, say what your looking for and the engine looks for it. Google Voice Search must be cringing in annoyance.
The Alcatel One Touch Net mobile shown at CommunicAsia 2010 could be considered the Yahoo! Phone.
