Edu-tech startup Collegedunia has recently launched its mobile app to reach students. Collegedunia is a college search platform that enables students to explore options and compare them. With its mobile app, the startup now aims to rationalise the admission process and simplify it for students. The startup claims that the app has already recorded more than 25,000 installs and a rating of 4.6 on Playstore in a course of two months. The site gathers information about various entrance exams and colleges based on various parameters including ranking, alumni record, placements, faculty and extra-curricular activities. The app features validated content and interactive user interface. The app lists colleges city-wise and state-wise and enables students to see brief and relevant data based upon various filters such as course, location, fee, ranking and placement etc., about numerous colleges and compare them, all at one place. The app lets one browse courses in 20 streams and further filter out the results based on factors such as full time, part time and distance courses. The company says that it launched the app to be “on your fingertips admission assistance” providing all the relevant details on college’s placement stats, course fee, faculties and sports facilities eliminating the need to rummage through multiple college sites for announcement of admission dates, results and release of admission forms. For now only the Android version is available. The company is yet to launch the iOS version. Sahil Chalana launched Collegedunia in 2014 and raised Rs 3 crore funding from Umang Kumar, CEO of Gaadi.com. The company now has around 100 employees. Himanshu Jain serves as CTO of the company, Nishit Kumar leads the content management team and Sanjay Meena leads the sales team. Ashish Kumar looks at operations.
