Cola, Coffee or iPod?

Some airports in the US (well, Las Vegas, San Fransisco and Atlanta) now have an iPod vending machine . An unattended, electronically operated machine that spits out an iPod when you put $300 in it. Just goes to say how much of a common commodity an iPod has become that it takes the place usually occupied by coffee, candy, cola and chips.

Here we have vending machines and one person standing next to it all day to operate the machine for the customers. How ridiculous is that? What’s the point of having an automated vending machine if you’re anyway putting a human on the job? Imagine something like this here. The iPods in the vending machine will be sold out the next day, but obviously there won’t be any money in the machine.
