CoD 3 UK release dates announced

Activision has disclosed the European release dates for their upcoming WW II shooter Call of Duty 3 and they go something like this:

  • 20th November 2006 – Xbox 360
  • 24th November 2006 – PS2
  • 1st December 2006 – Nintendo Wii
  • March 2007 – PS3

In case you’re wondering, there isn’t going to be any PC release for this game as of now, but here’s what you can expect if you own either consoles:

Battle Actions – An all-new close-quarters battle mechanic allows players to fight hand-to-hand, improvise explosive devices, disarm traps and execute a host of other battlefield situations that require cunning and rapid reflexes to survive.

Branching Mission Paths – Next-generation level design provides multiple attack routes that let players decide how to confront the enemy – flank an opponent, or hit him head-on. Each unique mission path requires special tactics, from sniping and demolition to all-out head-on clashes.

Nowhere to Hide – Environmental physics allow players to destroy enemy soft cover hideouts, forcing foes out in the open. But be wary, opponents can eliminate your protective cover as well.

I can’t say I’m dissapointed this game isn’t coming to the PC (I’ve had it with WWII shooters) but Activision shouldn’t have turned its back on the platform that gave birth to this franchise of theirs.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
