Google Chrome to get picture-in-picture support in third developer preview of Android O

The new eyeball grabbing feature for the Android O is the picture-in picture video support which will now be available on Chrome.

The next update for Google's Android will be Android O and already the third and final developer preview has been released on the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and Pixel smartphone devices. The new eyeball grabbing feature for Android O is the picture-in picture video support.

The feature had earlier been a part of the Android TV since Nougat, but will now feature on Phones as well. Some apps have already added support for this feature, including VLC, Duo, and Play Movies, and now it's time for Chrome to introduce the feature as well.

Picture-in-picture is an update by which you'll be able to shrink the video down into a floating window and do other things on the device.

Using this feature is extremely easy as well. While on Chrome, on an Android O enabled device, tap the recents button twice and you will be able to enter the picture-in-picture mode.

This development comes after a bit of confusion around the update as it was speculated that Google would place Android O as an incremental update with version number 7.2. Thankfully, that won't be the case. Since the third preview contains the latest APIs, it has also revealed that Android O will officially be Android 8.0.
