Chrome 27 released with faster web page loading times

Google has announced the stable channel release of Chrome 27. It includes a whole bunch of goodies, but the highlight is the 5 percent speed boost. On its Chrome Releases blog, Google says that on Chrome 27 web pages load 5 percent faster on average. In addition to that, the new API allows saving and syncing content to Google Drive. Ranking of predictions, spell correction and Omnibox predictions have been doled out improvements too. Also, Chrome 27 features a host of bug fixes. Chrome 27 also comes with a new Adobe Flash build.

Google’s Francois Beaufort further shares that folks at Chrome are at present working on introducing the App Launcher on the Mac platform. He has even posted a screenshot of that.

Chrome 27 is here!

Chrome 27 reportedly has Google Now style voice search goodness too, according to Android Central. While the full contextual search isn’t running like when it was demoed during the Google I/O keynote, basic voice search and response is up and running, says the Chrome team. 

To try it out, go to settings in the Chrome browser and click the Help line entry option. When prompted, users should restart their browser session. Once back, they can head over to www.google.com and hit the microphone icon in the search box. Once they permit to listen to their voice, they can move to asking questions. 

You can update to Chrome 27 by using the browser’s built-in silent updater, or download it directly from google.com/chrome.
