Integrated circuits or chip orders for Android phone makers has seen a slowdown in China according to a report in Digitimes . The main reason being given is that the chip inventories have been piling up after the initial spike of high volume sales.
According to the supply chain sources, chip orders had sky rocketed after the Lunar Year break. But several China-based handset makers have seen dismal sales of some of its models - the chip orders for which have been cut down.
A lot of the Android phone-makers have decided to wait-and-see till the new iPhone launches. According to sources, a lot of the phone makers do not want to clash with the next generation Apple phone - the iPhone 7 - which is expected to launch in September.
While Digitimes is not the most reliable of sources regarding Apple launch speculations, the supply chain sources which are connected with the Taiwanese chip makers can be taken seriously.
