CES 2017: LG wants you to wear these speakers around your neck

LG seems to be preparing unique audio equipment to showcase at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. The company has just announced that it will showcase the LG Tone Studio, a neckband with built-in speakers. The idea here is to directly throw audio onto your ears without having you to wear anything on them. The Tone Studio has a total of four speakers, two at the top and two vibrating speakers at the bottom. LG says this arrangement allows for a ‘personal surround sound experience when watching a movie, playing a video game or simply streaming music.’ LG added that the speaker offers a realistic theater-like sound for a cinematic experience wherever you may be. For this, it has collaborated with DTS. It is definitely an interesting concept, but why would someone want to wear speakers around them when they can just pop in a good pair of headphones. If the concept is aiming at personal audio, then why would one want other people to hear the audio. LG-PJ9 (2) Just yesterday LG announced  a floating Bluetooth speaker called the PJ9 Levitating Portable Speaker which can hover over its base. The base contains the electromagnets required to levitate the speaker, which offers 360-degree sound and a 10-hour battery life.
