Seagate unveiled its brand new logo at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) along with the announcement of Seagate Seven - first stainless steel portable drive in a 500GB capacity, Seagate Wireless and the Seagate Personal Cloud. The Seagate Seven drive comes in a stainless steel body and houses Seagate’s 5mm internal drive in a 500GB capacity. It is called Seagate Seven, because the external drive measured only 7mm thick. The external steel casing has an appearance which makes the portable drive look like an internal laptop hard drive. The steel design is meant not just to make the drive look good, but also add in an element of ruggedness to the drive. The USB 3.0 interface powers the drive. It is expected to start selling at $100 (approx Rs 6350) from the end of January. [caption id=“attachment_248294” align=“aligncenter” width=“620”]  Seagate Wireless also houses a 500GB hard drive and it lets you connect three mobile devices to it at a time[/caption] The next product announced was the Seagate Wireless, which is also a 500GB portable drive coming in a compact shape. This drive will have a plastic casing in multiple colours, which is meant to be used as a wireless drive. It houses a Wi-fi adapter within which allows up to three mobile devices to be connected to the Seagate Wireless simultaneously. The Wireless can be used to transfer content such as photos or videos to and from mobile devices using the Seagate Wireless app. The Seagate Wireless offers a 9-hour battery life. It will be priced at $130 (approx Rs 8250) and will start selling from the end of January. [caption id=“attachment_248293” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”]  Seagate Personal Cloud comes in capacities from 3TB all the way to 8TB[/caption] The last product announced was the Seagate Personal Cloud, a home-based server-like storage option. It will come in capacites such as 3TB, 4TB and 5TB whereas a two-bay model will have 4TB, 6TB and 8TB options as well. You can use the Personal Cloud to back up data in your home and which can be further backed up to online services such as Dropbox or Google Drive or Amazon S3. You can also stream full HD videos to other devices. Using the Seagate Media app, you can also access content on your personal cloud server from anywhere in the world. The pricing starts from $170 (approx Rs 10800) and it will start selling from January end onwards.
