Amidst the big announcements coming from Intel at the CES, one shouldn’t miss its all new Compute Stick. Yes, the company has also announced a PC-on-a-stick  dubbed Compute Stick that will run Windows 8.1 or Linux at the show.

“More than just a media stick like the Amazon Fire TV Stick, the Compute Stick essentially squeezes the power of a tablet into the size of a pack of gum. While it can handle media streaming duties via its HDMI 1.4a port, its other specs let you do much more,” points out ZDnet .

The Compute Stick is powered by the Atom Z3735F Bay Trail processor and the company also promises newer processors like Broadwell Core M CPUs for future iterations of the device.

The specs sheet includes 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, USB port, support for WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 and also a mini-USB connector. However, the Linux version will come with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage, owing to its smaller OS footprint.

The Compute Stick running Windows 8.1 will be priced at $149 (approximately Rs 9,400) while the Linux variant will be priced at $89 (approximately Rs 5,600).

Intel array of products showcased at the CES 2015 also include the tiny button-size ‘ Curie ’ that will allow anyone or any company to create a smart wearable product. Besides, it also showcased the RealSense technology that makes drones ‘smarter’.
